Career
He was educated at Ardingly College. He held the ranks of Colonel in 1938, Brigadier in 1939, and Major-general in 1945. He was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1938, Central Bank in 1943, and Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1945.
