Mcdonald, Robert C. was born on February 18, 1881 in Crockett County, Tennessee, United States. Son of James Robert and Sara (Moore) Mcdonald.


Doctor of Medicine Tulane University, 1909. Graduated from Army Medical School, 1911, Command and General staff schedul, 1926, Army War College, 1930.


Commissioned Lieutenant, Medical corpus, United States army, 1910, advancing through the ranks to brigadier general, 1945. Served with 1st Division, with Army schools and on staff of General John Jay Pershing, 1917-1919. In surgeon general’s office, Washington, District of Columbia, 1921-1925 and 1931-1935.

Instructor, Command and General staff schedul, 1930-1931. Surgeon, 3d Army, 1940-1942. Surgical, 3d Service Command, 1942.
