Admitted to Illinois bar, 1867. Was assignee in bankruptcy under law of 1867 in over 1,200 cases. Has been president Law Institute, and several years treasurer Chicago Bar Association.
Was chairman of commission which drew present jury commission law, and secured its passage through legislature.
Was member “reform” board of Cook County Commissioners, 1888, and chairman of its finance committee. Foreign many years vice president Citizens Association.
Vice president Chicago City Missionary Society. Superintendent for 10 years of Sunday School of Union Park Congressional Church, and for 8 years of that of South Congressional Church, Chicago.
