Robert Harvey Thompson, American lawyer. Served as private, C.S.A. at 16; member Constitutional Convention, 1890; member firm of R. H. & J. H. Thompson. New Capitol commissioner, 1900-1901. Chairman Code Commission, which prepared the Annotated Code of Mississippi, 1892.

Thompson, Robert Harvey was born on August 25, 1847 in Copiah County, Mississippi, United States. Son of John H. and Margaret Ann (Watson) Thompson.

Bachelor of Arts, University of Mississippi, 1869. Studied law, University of Mississippi, 1869-1870, Doctor of Laws, 1893.

Career

Served as private, C.S.A. at 16. Began practicing law, Brookhaven, 1871. State senator, 1876-1880.

Member Constitutional Convention, 1890. Attorney I.C. R.R., 1878-1897 (resigned). General attorney Alabama & Vicksburg Railway Company, 1897, until it became part of I.C. System, 1912, and continued as attorney for that railway.

Senior member firm of R. H. & J. H. Thompson. New Capitol commissioner, 1900-1901. Chairman Code Commission, which prepared the Annotated Code of Mississippi, 1892.

Trustee University of Mississippi, 1889-1906.
