Career

Judge Ward received a Bachelor of Surgery from Harvard College in 1945 and an Bachelor of Laws from Harvard Law School in 1949. He was nominated to the court by Richard Nixon on September 25, 1972, to a seat vacated by Frederick van Pelt Bryan, confirmed by the United States Senate on October 12, 1972, and received his commission on October 17, 1972. He assumed senior status on February 1, 1991.

He died on August 5, 2003.
