Began practice at Atoka, Oklahoma, 1904. Member first Okla legislature, from Atoka County, 1907-1908. District judge, 7th Judicial District (later 26th District), Oklahoma, 1909-1915.
State chairman Democratic State and National Campaign Committee, 1916. Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, April 15, 1917-May 11, 1920, chief justice May 11, 1920-January 10, 1921. Now member Rainey, Flynn, Green & Anderson.
The state should not attempt to control the church, nor should the church seek to dominate the state. The separation of church and state should not be misconstrued as the abolition of all religious expression from public life.
The supportive small group inside the Church is the most powerful tool for people to feel that they belong and also to learn and grow.
