Robert Michael Rich, American Astronomy educator. Achievements include co-discovery of metal-rich stars in the galacticbulge; establishment of wide metal abundance range in bulge and linkto galaxy populations; first extragalactic detection of diffuse interstellar bands, luminosity function and properties of stars in the bulge of M31; observations with ground-based telescopes and Hubble space telescope. Member American Astronomical Society.
