With National Carbon Company, Cleveland, O., in Research Laboratory and as assistant superintendent, 1912-1920. Professor chemical engineering, Massachusetts Institute Technology, 1920-1927, also director Research Laboratory of Applied Chemistry and director School of Chemical Engineering Practice, in charge of course in gas and fuel engrings., 1927-1935.

Vice-president and general manager Standard Oil Development Company (subsidiary of Standard Oil Corporation, New Jersey), 1931-1935. Vice president Hydro Engineering & Chemical Company. General sales manager, Standard Oil Corporation of New Jersey, 1935-1942.
