In July 2014 Alcántara invested 100 million Euros in the Spanish Media Company PRISA, making him the largest individual stakeholder. Alcántara"s past jobs includes the director of the former Mexican bank Bancrecer, before declaring bankruptcy.
Since 2015 he has been included along Carlos Slim and Ricardo Salinas Pliego in the List of the 100 most important entrepreneurs in Mexico by Cable News Network. Legal documents show that the house was sold at a price of 33,870,190 Mexican Pesos in 2011 just before Osorio Chong took office.
