Hoffman & Hoffman was founded in 1920 when Irving Hoffman and Harry Hoffman, brothers calling themselves Hoffman & Hoffman, opened an office at 73 Tremont Street, Boston. They hired a secretary and, with one typewriter and one telephone, they were prepared for the modern practice of law.
Irving had a talent for real estate and Harry for the courtroom.
Together they built a practice which, after a few years, turned toward an emphasis on real estate. This was retained even as work in other areas of the law developed and expanded to meet the needs of a varied clientele.
