Civil air transport is globally recognized as one of the most convenient, fastest, and safest modes of travel. As air traffic continues to grow, tremendous efforts are required to keep air transport save and sustainable. The "aviation safety" culture should therefore be regarded as a continuous effort to enhance that very aviation safety. However, albeit very rarely, things might go wrong. If an aviation accident occurs, the consequences are mostly dramatic and the impact on society will be far-reaching. It is society that immediately demands an investigation into cause and guilt. This book provides insight into the question of legal principles, rules, and protocols regarding the concurrence of civil aviation accident and incident investigations in the Netherlands, which is considered to be a less than perfect paradigm. The book calls for independent and comprehensive technical aviation accident and incident investigations, not hampered by other concurrent inquiries, in a just cultural environment. This will eventually enable the global civil aviation industry to learn lessons for the future.
