Special counsel board of health, New York, 1896, 1897, 1898. Counsel for Caro heirs in first case that established liability of elevated railway companies to abutters in New York, 1882. Drafted tenement house laws of 1895, and prosecuted proceedings which established constitutionality of one of these laws and resulted in destruction of more than 70 tenements.
Secured appointment of receivers of Bay State Gas Company, 1896. Was counsel for Senator W. A. Clark in the Montana election case before the United States Senate, 1900. Author: A Treatise on the Federal Judiciary Acts of 1875 and 1887.
