The firm is the second oldest continuing business in Greene County and one of the oldest law firms in the state. Mr. Block participated extensively in litigation between the United States of America and landowners determining title to much of the eastern part of Greene County in its early years.
Other prominent past partners of the firm were William F. Kirsch, Maurice Cathey (both of whom practiced more than 50 years) and Gerald Parker Brown. Mr. Cathey served as President of the Arkansas Bar Association and, as a probate specialist, helped write the Probate Code of 1949.
Mr. Brown, a Marine veteran of World World War II and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Arkansas, left the firm in 1975 for the bench and was honored in 1979 as Trial Judge of the Year by the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Moore is the immediate past president of the Arkansas Bar Association. The firm supports and participates in various community and civic affairs and its members are active in local and state bar associations.
