Rokube Kiyomizu studied the art of pottery under Seibe Ebiya at Kyoto and then went to Snigaraki, Omi, for studies.
Rokube Kiyomizu built a kiln at Gojozaka, Kyoto, during the Meiwa Era (1764-1771) and came to be the originator of the pottery that is now known as Kiyo-mizu-yak.
