Rokuro Taniuchi

Background

Taniuchi Rokuro was born on December 2, 1921 in Tokyo, Japan.

Education

Taniuchi was a student of Komazawa Primary School.

Career

Before the war Taniuchi worked in an electric factory and began to draw cartoons as an amateur. After the war his cartoons started to find publication in such newspapers as Mimpo, and the cartoon magazines VAN and Cartcature. He compiled his cartoon series published by the Bungei Shunju magazine in 1955 and rose to the front ranks of the nation's cartoonists.
