Roland Nathan Pittman, American Physiology educator. Achievements include first systematic measurements of oxygen transport in microcirculatory system in animals; development of video and spectrophotometric methods to perform these measurements; discovery of diffusive exchange of oxygen between large and small microvessels. National Institutes of Health grantee, since 1975, National Research Council grantee, 1977.
