In Los Angeles he entered the University of Southern California as a student in architecture. He was educated for the ministry at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
Mr. Tuttle served as pastor of several churches in eastern states prior to moving to California. After beginning practice he established an office and residence in Los Gatos. While his career was comparatively brief, Mr. Tuttle established a reputation in church work, designing buildings erected in San Jose, Richmond, Watsonville, Ukiah, Alameda and elsewhere in northern California. He also did some commercial work, including the Los Gatos Mail-News Building, one of his last commissions.
