Began as bank messenger, 1888, later with wholesale shoe house of Morse & Rogers. Paying teller New York National Exchange Bank, 1898-1901. Was made cashier, 1901, of Irving National Exchange Bank, title later changed to American Exchange Irving Trust Company, of which was president, 1912-1919, vice chairman, 1919-1929.

Later associate with Tobey & Kirk, mems. New York Stock Exchange. Director Diamond Match Company, Electric Power & Light Corporation, Pennsylvania Securities Corporation, Globe & Republic Insurance Company, Bankers-Commercial Security Company (chairman finance committee).
