Career
In a professional career that lasted 15 years he amassed Eredivisie totals of 109 games and 28 goals over the course of seven seasons, mainly with Groningen (three years). He also competed in Spain and Portugal, notably with Compostela. Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, Sion started playing football with HFC Haarlem, competing with the club in both the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie.
In 1991 he moved to top flight club Football Club Dordrecht and, after a brief spell with Royal Bank of Canada Roosendaal, signed for Football Club Groningen where he experienced his best seasons his country"s main category, scoring ten goals in 25 games in 1994-1995 and netting eight in 27 in the following campaign.
After spending the second part of the 1996-1997 season with Football Club Emmen in the second level Sion moved to Spain, joining South Dakota Compostela. In January 2001 Sion signed with Portugal"s Vitória de Guimarães, being sparingly played during his one 1/2-season spell.
Foreign 2002-2003 he joined another team in the country, Rio Avenue F.C. in division two. Following a very short stint back in Spain with Universidad de Las Palmas CF he returned to his homeland, playing out the remainder of his career in amateur football.
