In the 1980s - the head of the illustration for Nemanus magazine in Kaunas, Romualdas Rakauskas was previously (1965-1967) photojournalist at the magazine Müsu Gamta and (1963-1965) at the weekly Literatüra ir Menas.
In 1976 Romualdas Rakauskas has awarded the Slupsko Plenair grand prize and also the grand prize at the "Man and Work" exhibit in Kapsukas; in 1973 he received the grand prize at the "Man and Earth" exhibit in Plateliai.
Awarded the title of the most memorable Kaunas artist 0f 2006 for his exhibition "Lee" and "Accords". Recipient of the Gold Star of LATGA-A (Agency of Lithuanian Copyright Protection Association) as Author of the Year in the nomination of the most popular artist (art photographer) in 2006.
