Ronald John "Ron" Freeman, III is an American former athlete, the winner of a gold medal in the 4×400 m relay and a bronze medal in the 400 m dash at the 1968 Summer Olympics.

Ron"s relay leg was the fastest 400 meter relay leg ever ran and his time stood for more than 25 years.
Achievements
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Ron Freeman was third in the 400 m dash and ran the second leg (432 s) in the American 4×400 m relay team, which won the gold medal with a new world record of 2.56.16.
