In Ron Hutchinson’s powerful new satire on the media's manipulation of the images of war, a soldier returns from Afghanistan and tempts a newspaper editor with photos that seem to expose outrageous acts of brutality. But when their authenticity is questioned, it's not clear how far can the story be spun to stop the real truth from leaking out.

It is the winter of 1819. The most famous wit and dandy of them all, the man who taught a generation of Englishmen how to dress, friend and confidant to lords, ladies, and royalty, is preparing to receive the Prince of Wales. But this is not Bath or Brighton or any of the other fashionable watering holes where for years Beau Brummell held court to regency swells. The most stylish man of his day now lives in a madhouse in Calais with his valet, determined as ever to relive past glories. Beau Brummell had its world premiere at the Theatre Royal, Bath in February 2001, and starred Peter Bowles.

2017Much of Hutchinson's early writing reflects his Irish background. He addresses the experiences of Irish characters away from their homeland as well as those embroiled in the political turmoil of the country, yet he manages to strike a balance that enables him to connect with audiences regardless of their background, tapping into universal themes. Hutchinson admits to an early awareness of the situation in Ireland, telling Chicago Sun-Times contributor Hedy Weiss that even as a child he was conscious that there was something in the landscape which was brooding. "I think theater along with tea and violence are Ireland's three national addictions... I don't really know what led me to this compulsive writing of dialogue. All I know is that I find it difficult to stop doing it." - Hutchinson said.
Ron Hutchinson is married to Alisa Hutchinson. They have one child - Isabella.
