Education
Albers then attended the University of Wisconsin Law School and earned his Juris Doctor in 1974.
Career
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa in 1971. A Democrat, Albers was selected on June 11, 2009 to serve on the San Francisco County Superior Court by Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was sworn in on June 15, 2009.
Albers is the first openly gay judge appointed by Schwarzenegger and is believed to be the first openly gay judge appointed by a Republican California governor.
