Career
Parys was born on October 7, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended Messmer High School before graduating from Riverside University High School and served in the United States Army Reserve. Parys was married and had five children.
On September 16, 2007, he died in Englewood, Florida.
Parys served three terms in the Assembly before being elected to the Senate from the 9th district in a special election in 1969. He was a strong advocate of legalized gambling.
He was a Democrat.
