Ronn Pineo was born on April 15, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, United States; the son of Ronn Pineo, a college professor, and Claudia Patricia Pineo, a professor of English.
In 1979 Ronn received a Bachelor in History from California State University. He also got a Master of Arts in History in 1981 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1987 from the University of California.
Ronn Pineo began his career at the University of California—Irvine as a lecturer. In 1985 he received the position of an instructor at Cypress College, becoming a visiting lecturer at the University of Nevada—Las Vegas in 1986. In a year Ronn was appointed as a visiting assistant professor at Emory University. Pineo was also promoted from a visiting assistant professor, through assistant professorship and associate professorship to a professor of history at Towson University. He served as a resident director of Study Abroad Program in Mexico City, Mexico in 1995 and was a coordinator of Latin American studies. Currently, Pineo works as a professor and Chair of the Department of History at Towson University in Baltimore.
Ronn is the author of two books on the Andean region. His first book Social and Economic Reform in Ecuador was published in 1996, followed by Ecuador and the United States in 2007.
