Career
On January 2, 2008 Iran Pro League side Paykan F.C. signed Kockel on a 6-month contract, Kockel is the first German professional football player in Iran. On 3 December 2009 became the Assistant Marketing Chef of his club Kentucky Fried Chicken Uerdingen. On 26 May 2012 he was named the successor of Jörg Jung as head coach alongside Erhan Albayrak.
