Roppeita Kita was a noh player. After the Meiji Restoration (1868), when the Noh play was on the wane, Roppeita Kita did much to revive its popularity and put the Kitaryii school back on its feet.

Roppeita Kita was born in Tokyo. Original family name Utsuno. He was adopted by Roppeita Kita (1880).
