Career
At first he was a disciple of Soin Nishiyama, a haiku master, but later joined the group of Basno and Kikaku. He was forced to retire as daimyo at the age of 27 because of displeasure of his father, Fuko, who believed a man who slandered Rosen. Because he was well to-do even after retirement, poets of various schools sought his company. He assisted many poets financially.
