Ross Minter is the son of Alan Minter, the former World Middleweight Champion.
Minter began boxing professionally in 2001. In his career, he has faced a mixed bag of competition—some legitimate contenders, some who were nothing more than professional opponents. He lost a fight against American boxer Freddy Curiel in The Contender Challenge: United Kingdom versus
United States of America, getting knocked out in the last round of a fight he was winning.
On 2 February 2008, he lost by technical knockout to Michael Jennings in a title bout for the World Boxing Union world welterweight crown. Minter retired as a fighter in 2008 and later became boxing promoter.
Minter is trained by John Eames and Peter Swinney at the TKO Gym in Canning Town in London. He supports the Advance Centre for The Scotson Technique charity.
