Roy Godson received a bachelor's degree with honors from Middlebury College in 1964, an MBA from Columbia University in 1967. He also graduated from Columbia University with a Ph.D. in 1972.
Roy Godson began his career at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh as an instructor in 1967-1969. He was also the director of education for peace councils in Pittsburgh. Since 1969, he worked as an assistant professor and director of the International Work Program and held this position until 1973. From this year he became director of Frontlash.
Now he is the Honored Professor of the Georgetown government.
Godson testified before the House of Representatives of the United States, the United States House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, as an expert on the problem of violence in Central America. He testified before the United States Senate Committee on Intelligence in 2017 to provide information on the Senate investigation into Russia's intervention in the US elections in 2016.
He was president of the National Strategy Information Center, Washington, DC.
Godson created and edited several books on covert operations and intelligence, including: "Misinformation: active measures in the Soviet strategy," dirty tricks "or" trumps "and comparison of foreign intelligence.
