Yadav was "Mistress India Queen" in December 2013. Prior to entering politics, Yadav was a social activist in Delhi. Yadav contested the 2014 parliamentary elections in South Delhi as an independent candidate, placing fourth with 5% of the vote.
She later joined the BJP on 24 June 2014.
