Kleberg, Rudolph was born on June 26, 1847 in Austin Company, Texas, United States. Son of Robert and Rosa (von Roeder) Kleberg.

Education

Educated private schools. Served in Tom Green’s cavalry brigade, C.S.A., 1864-1865.

Career

Admitted to bar, 1872. Established Cuero Star, 1873. Company attorney, 1876-1880.

Member Texas Senate, 1882-1884. United State Attorneys for Western District of Texas, 1885-1889. Elected, April, 1896, to fill vacancy in 54th Congress caused by death of his law-partner, William H. Crain.

Reëlected 55th to 57th Congresses (1897-1903), 11th Texas District. Democrat; official reporter, Court of Criminal Appeals, Texas, February 24, since 1905. Home: Austin, Tex.
