Ruisu Nishii took education in Omura Clan in Hizen Province.
Ruisu Nishii began trading with Luzon since about 1592. In 1607 and 1612, he received from Leyasu Tokugawa letters with his vermilion seal marks which permitted him to visit any foreign country. Engaged in South Seas trade until 1615.
Ruisu Nishii became a Christian for the sake of convenience and assumed the name of Ruisu (Luis). In 1620 was converted to the Nichiren Sect of Buddhism.
