Originally an actor, Russell Drisch moved to Buffalo to play two seasons at Studio Arena Theater. During this time, his interest in photography overcame his love for theater. He left acting and opened Drisch Photography studio and Gallery West. His works has been exhibited in many different cities Such as New York and Toronto. They have been published in Time and Buffalo Magazines.
Drisch's photographic work uses representational, photographically derived images in combination with elements of painting, drawing and collage. His primary concern is in the "establishing of various planes and how our perceptions are altered when seeing/looking through foreground, through middleground and into the background".
