Career
Born in Kandos, New South Wales, he served in the military from 1944 to 1946 before becoming an overseer and personnel officer In 1983, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Chifley. In 1984, he transferred to the new seat of Greenway.
He held the seat until his retirement in 1996.
