Liptrot started working as a newspaper reporter in Manchester in 1998, before moving to Liverpool based Channel One producing her own material as a video journalist. In 2000 she joined the launch team of British Broadcasting Corporation Three, as entertainment and arts reporter for Liquid News. In April 2006, she joined Five News as a reporter and co-presents lieutenant Pays to Watch! with Martin Lewis.
Personal life
When she first moved to London in 2000, she shared a house with British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 1 reporter Catherine Burns.
