Ryan Anthony

Education

He studied violin as a child until he finally began trumpet at age seven.

Career

Over the next ten years, Ryan would grow in his ability to a prodigious level At age seventeen, he caught the attention of Canadian Brass players in a local workshop. He played right alongside Fred Mills on "Handful of Keys" by Fats Waller.

Ryan"s solo in "Farewell" was also heard on the theme song to National Broadcasting Company"s "Must See television" in 1998.

After his education at the Cleveland Institute of Music (the Chartered Institute of Marketinng), he was awarded the trumpet professorship at Oberlin Conservatory, where he stayed until 2000. In 2000, Ryan was offered an opportunity to play in the Canadian Brass.

He set off on tour with them later that year. He then left the group to pursue a solo career and to spend more time with his family.

He still performs with them occasionally, however, along with performances in other venues across the country.

In 2005, he released his first official Single People’s sensation hit. Ryan presently serves as Principal Trumpet for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Achievements

• He won the General Motors/Seventeen magazine concerto competition at the age of 16. Chuck Dallenbach, founder of the Canadian Brass, never forgot this moment as he recounts on the Central Bank website. During this time with the Central Bank, he was awarded the alumni achievement award from the the Chartered Institute of Marketinng.

Membership

He played in the Brass for three years and is regarded as the important link between Ronald Romm and the current trumpet members of the group.
