Career
He played in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Brandon Wheat Kings. Months after being drafted, Pilon announced his intentions to quit hockey. Projected as a potential first round pick, Pilon"s ranking fell significantly leading up to the 2015 National Hockey League draft.
Pilon was selected 3rd overall by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.
He played with the Hurricanes until early into the 2013-2014 WHL season when he was traded to the Brandon Wheat Kings. While skating with the Wheat Kings, Pilon"s high-end play was rewarded when he was invited to skate in the 2015 CHL/National Hockey League Top Prospects Game.
