The package includes a 40 page spiral bound book, 5.5" by 8.5" in size, along with a one hour CD with spoken and fiddling examples by fiddling champion Ryan Thomson, This course is designed for learners with little or no experience with fiddle or violin playing. Topics such as tuning, practicing, holding the instrument, and learning by ear are covered in detail. Fingering and bowing patterns are illustrated. Standard music notation is included although no music reading ability is required. Basic bowing, rhythms, scales, and tune variations are demonstrated and explained.
