Ryiisei Kishida studied painting at Hakuoakai Studio.
Ryiisei Kishida with Shohachi Kimura and Yori Saito founded the Fusain Society, and held art exhibitions on the roof of Yomiuri Shimbun office. When the Nika-kai Society was formed was invited to act as a member of the judging committee. Leaving this, he formed Sodo-sha Society with Shohachi Kimura and Issei Nakagawa. He was also a proficient ukiyoe painter, and published a whole book on this titled Shoki-Nikuhitsu-Ukiyoe. Later in life he took up the painting of miniatures on the style of ancient Chinese artists.
