Hara Ryoichiro graduated from the Tokyo Higher Commercial School. In 1886 he went to England and studied economics.
Career
In 1892, succeeding his father in his business, he took charge of the Kinkodo Publishing Company. When elementary school text books were brought under State control (1903), he organized the Tokyo Tosho Publishing Co. Ltd. to print and publish text books and became its president. He was also a director of the Kinkodo Publishing, Teikoku Printing and Nihon Paper Manufacturing Companies.
