Career
After graduating from Keio Gijuku joined the editorial staff of Hoclii Shimbun but later entered business with the Mitsui Group (1894). Director of Sumitomo Bank, then managing director of Daimlicm Seito (sugar refining) (1907). He founded Yayoi Co., which manufactured rubber shoes and tires (1914) and then manager of Yayoi Coal Mines in Hokkaido.
