Joshi was a chemist, he had done research in Colloids, Electrochemistry, Photochemistry, etc. Also, he discovered New Design of Electric Furnace & New Methods for the manufacture of Potassium Dichromate, Potassium Permanganate Acetic Anhydride, etc. and a New Weight Effect in Electric Discharg, called "Joshi Effect''. He was a specialist in Physical Chemistry.
Education
Joshi graduated from the Bombay University in 1921, then he got M.Sc. (Master of Science) degree in Banaras Hindu University and D.Sc.(Doctor of Science) in London University.
Career
Joshi started working as a Principal, College of Science in India, then as a Professor & Head of Chemistry Department, Banaras Hindu University and finally as a Research Professor.
He wrote about 300 articles & research papers.
Membership
He was a member of International Congress of Chemistry (President, Physical Chemistry Section 1959), Indian Science Congress Association (President, Chemistry Section 1943 & Council), Indian Chemical Society (Council), Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (Governing Body), Senate & Executive Council of Banaras Hindu University.
