Saburo Unno was born in 1889 in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
In 1911 Saburo Unno graduated from Physics Course of Tohoku University.
Saburo Unno taught at middle schools in Tōhoku and Yonezawa districts and then served at Yawata Steel Works. He became director of Japan Iron and Steel Manufacturing Company, permanent director of Kagaku Kurabu (Science Club) and chief priest of Myōzenji Temple of Honganji Branch, Jodo-Shinshū Sect of Buddhism, and director of Yamagata Municipal Industrial Science Research Institute.
Elected thrice to House of Representatives (1947, 1948 and 1953). As representative of Yamagata Prefecture attended World Buddhists' Conference. Counselor of Yamagata Prefectural League of Japan Farmers' Union.
Saburo Unno was a member of Socialist Party. Former member of Left-Wing Socialist Party.
