First story published in 1910. During the February and October Revolutions 1917, a Bolshevik official in Kazakhstan, member of the Akmolinsk Revkom (revolutionary committee). In 1918, taken prisoner by the Whites, but escaped.
In 1919, a Communist Party worker in Akmolinsk. In 1920, in Orenburg. From 1922-1925, chairman of the Sovnarkom of the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and full member of the VTSIK. From 192537, editor of Trudovoi Kazakh (Working Kazakh), then editor-in-chief of Literary Front (in the Kazakh language).
One of the first Soviet Kazakh writers. Arrested in 1938, perished in the Gulag.
