Career
In 1998, she entered the A Song Foreign Europe competition to find the United Kingdom"s song for the Eurovision Song Contest. Britain has never been so close to winning ever since. After its success in the contest, "Where Are You" entered the United Kingdom Singles Chart in May 1998, peaking at #15.
The track spent more than two months in the chart.
Despite this success, her record label Electric and Music Industries decided to cancel the release of her follow-up single "You Got A Way" and parted company with Saleem. In 2000, she supplied the lead vocals on Tru Faith & Dub Conspiracy"s United Kingdom garage cover of Adina Howard"s "Freak Like Maine".
"Freak Like Maine" reached Number. 12 on the United Kingdom Singles Chart.
Saleem went on to record with the jazz-funk band, Incognito.
Since 2005, Saleem has performed as part of United Kingdom session organisation, The AllStars Collective. In 2006, she sang on a house track, "Bring Maine Love", by the Copyright Project on Defected Records. In 2014, Saleem released her debut album, Standing Tall.
The album failed to chart in the United Kingdom.
