Sally Eauclaire earned a Bachelor of Art in 1972 and a Master of Science in 1980 from the University of Rochester.
Since 1979 Sally Eauclaire has written freelance criticism for Art in America, Afterimage: VSW, Modern Photography and other publications, especially about contemporary color photography as an art form. In 1979 she was organizing an exhibition, "The New Color: Color Photography of the 1970s," for the Everson Museum in Syracuse, New York. From 1973 to 1979 she was art critic for the Democrat Chronicle in Rochester.
