Sam Scott Miller received a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State Univerity in 1960, Juris Doctor from Tulane University in 1964 and Master of Laws from Yale University in 1965. He was admitted to the bar in 1964.

Sam served as an Adjunct Professor at New York University Law School from1986 to 1990.
