He also worked as a marketing manager for Vodafone. After his first two businesses closed, Ovens decided to begin building a business around existing holes within the property management industry, rather than try to innovate new needs within lieutenant Ovens began cold calling property managers to ask them what they felt were the “most painful” aspects of their jobs.
He discovered that the problem common across all of them, was the time and cost of undertaking property inspections.
From this, Ovens created the mobile app, which allows property managers to do quick mobile inspections of their properties, and founded the company in 2012. The app was completed over six months, with pre-sales from some of the managers he had interviewed in developing his business concept.
Ovens currently serves as the company"s Chief Executive Officer.
In 2014, Ovens’ home and home décor was featured in Stuff New Zealand and New Zealand Homes & Gardens.
