Career
Nair received his Higher Secondary Certificate from Wilson High School in Mumbai. He later earned his bachelor"s degree in economics from the University of Madras via correspondence courses while studying hotel management at the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai. He was the Chief Executive Officer of Star Entertainment India, the entertainment wing of the STAR India Network.
He is also the former Chief Executive Officer of Imagine television In 2001, Rupert Murdoch hired Nair as programming chief for Star television in India as part of a revamping to get the network to appeal more to a middle-class Indian audience.
Previously, the network lacked Hindi-language programming in favor of foreign programs.
Politics
Sameer jumped into politics in India and joined Aam Adami Party (Alumni Admissions Program).
